Decoding a sugar cookie recipe

Last year, I posted about making cookies around Christmas time. This year one of the cousins shared a recipe that is supposed to be Grandma Link’s recipe. Of course, we made sugar cookies this weekend.

Andrew Joseph Dingman was born on December 15, 1913 in West Point to Herman and Bernadine Mueller Dingman. He is a distant cousin of Walt’s through the Wellman side of the family.

Happy birthday cousin Herman Wellman

Herman Wellman was born on December 8, 1914 to Gerhard and Mary Reuter Wellman in West Point, Iowa. Herman is Walt’s 2nd cousin twice removed.

So you want to hike with your dog – Location, Location!

We have taken Jaxon on many hiking and camping trips over the years. He’s an excellent hiker and a slightly nervous camper. We worked with Jaxon for a while before we took him out overnight. If you want to take your dog out hiking out with you, here are some things to consider. Our posts will mostly be about dogs because that is what we know, but much of it applies to any pet.

Christmas Letters and Family History

Hope our US readers had a good Thanksgiving! Once Thanksgiving is over, most people turn their thoughts to the next holiday. And there are bunches in the next few weeks, Chanukah, Christmas, and Kwanzaa among others. So what does this have to do with family history? The Loss of a Little Cousin – Leona Link

On November 10th, 1911, Leona link died at the age of 9 months. She was the daughter of Eustace and Mary Strothman Link. Leona was Walt’s first cousin twice removed.

It’s Time to Exercise Your Right to Vote!

I have no wish to make this political, but I hope everyone in the United States is taking time to vote today if they haven’t already voted. To preserve your voting rights, you need to vote. It’s important to vote even in the off years.
