Benjamin Houser and Rhoda Hole were married on May 9, 1867 in Mercer County, Ohio. Rhoda is Walt’s 2nd great-aunt.
I’ve written some about Rhoda and Benjamin in the past. I thought I was going to write about Rhoda’s marriage and found that I had incorrect information. Additional research found the correct spouse.
Benjamin Houser was born in 1843 to Josiah and Elizabeth McGrary Houser in Ohio. I know little about their family, but may try to research more later.
Rhoda Hole was the 6th of nine children born to James and Mary and Swisher Hole. She was born on March 22, 1846. Her older brother, John Swisher Hole, is Walt’s great-grandfather. James was a farmer in Darke and Mercer County, Ohio.
I found Benjamin and Rhoda’s marriage record. It’s not super easy to read, but it is signed by the minister and a judge.

Benjamin and Rhoda Houser had 2 children together. Benjamin died on January 1st, 1875. Rhoda married Frank Monroe, a widower with a 5 year old daughter, on October 10, 1878. They had two more children together.
Frank died in 1903. Rhoda died on June 10, 1913. As far as I know, they are all buried in Swamp College Cemetery in Celina, Ohio.
