In my last few posts, here, here, and here, I’ve been talking about beads and beading projects. Here’s a look at another tool that allows you to do interesting things with wire and beads.

Tools, techniques and hints about making jewelry and decorative items with beads.
In this post, I talked about how I store my beads. I use them to make jewelry and to embellish quilts and other projects. My Eternity quilt, that I talked about is this post, uses beads as the major stars in the galaxy.
When I was looking for a good storage solution for my beading supplies, I searched through a lot of options. I wanted something that would hold a variety of items and keep it organized. I ended up using containers designed for beads and containers meant to hold fishing flies. There are plastic boxes and watchmakers tins. Here’s a look around my beading stash.
I dislike sitting idly and doing nothing, so I often take small sewing projects along with me when I have appointments or I am traveling. It might be knitting, cross-stitch, a beading project, or a hand-pieced or appliqued quilting project.
I used to just toss the tools in a bag and go, but found myself hunting for the various things I needed. So I spent some time thinking about what I needed for my projects and sat down with pencil and paper to design a kit (or two) for travel. Stick on hook and loop tape keeps the kits closed.
Every other year, my local quilt guild has a show, and there is always a challenge project. It encourages people to create something special in a theme to share with the visitors. It often has restrictions as to size and other details.
