Anna Sporer was born on May 23, 1913 in Lee County, Iowa. Anna is Walt’s great aunt on the Wellman side of the family.

Anna Sporer was the third of five children born to John and Berandine Winnike Sporer. The family had a farm in Henry County in the 1920 census. In the 1930 census, they have move closer to West Point.

On November 25, 1937, Anna Sporer married Aloysius Wellman. I found their registration of marriage. We find Walt’s grandmother Elizabeth Link and great-uncle George Wellman as the witnesses.

Al and Anna had 7 children together. Interestingly enough, their first child was born in March of 1930. The rest of their children were born after the wedding. Al and Anna farmed on the family farm for a time, but lost the property during the depression. They later moved onto the Bruegenhempke place (Read more about it here).

Al died on October 19, 1960. On March 16, 1964, Anna married Clarence Lamb. He died may 10, 1977.

Anna Sporer Wellman Lamb died on April 17, 1982 in West Point. She is buried in Calvary Cemetery,
