We have talked a fair bit about holiday traditions on the blog. Traditions are a part of family history. One tradition at our house is putting up the tree. We have a lot of ornaments from our families that go up on the tree every year.

Andrew Joseph Dingman was born on December 15, 1913 in West Point to Herman and Bernadine Mueller Dingman. He is a distant cousin of Walt’s through the Wellman side of the family.
Herman Wellman was born on December 8, 1914 to Gerhard and Mary Reuter Wellman in West Point, Iowa. Herman is Walt’s 2nd cousin twice removed.
We have taken Jaxon on many hiking and camping trips over the years. He’s an excellent hiker and a slightly nervous camper. We worked with Jaxon for a while before we took him out overnight. If you want to take your dog out hiking out with you, here are some things to consider. Our posts will mostly be about dogs because that is what we know, but much of it applies to any pet.
Reuben Linderman and Genevieve Boeding were married on December 1, 1939 in Mobridge, South Dakota. Genevieve is Walt’s 1st cousin once removed.
Hope our US readers had a good Thanksgiving! Once Thanksgiving is over, most people turn their thoughts to the next holiday. And there are bunches in the next few weeks, Chanukah, Christmas, and Kwanzaa among others. So what does this have to do with family history? Obviously there are many traditions, like the cookies we talked about last year.
Sometimes life really does interfere way too much with trying to get things that you want to do done. Today was one of those days.
Sometimes, life throws you a curve ball. Usually, it interferes with something you are trying to accomplish. A slow draining shower turned into a much larger project.
On November 10th, 1911, Leona link died at the age of 9 months. She was the daughter of Eustace and Mary Strothman Link. Leona was Walt’s first cousin twice removed.
