Matt Linder was born July 17, 1968 in Burlington, Iowa. He is Walt’s 1st cousin once removed.

Matthew Whitney Linder was born to Wendell and Dorothy Hoel Linder. They had had a son who died soon after birth, and Matt was their second child. They also had a third son.

Matt attended high school at West Burlington Arnold High School. He went on to study pharmacology at the University of Iowa, receiving both a bachelor’s and master’s degree.

Matt lived in Davenport for a time after college, then moved back to West Burlington. While in West Burlington, he worked at Borghi Group. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan. He played softball with his church league. We saw Matt often when we visited his parents and grandmother. I wrote about Dorothy in this post. I wrote about his grandmother Eleanor in this post.

Sadly, Matt Linder died at the age of 43 on September 26, 2011. He is interred in Burge Cemetery in New London, Iowa. Matt left a daughter, his father and his brother.
