Dorothy Ann Hoel was born to Orville and Eleanor Johnson Hoel on February 24, 1941 in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. She is Walt’s cousin.

I’ve posted a couple of pictures of Dorothy on the blog before. In this post, she was one of many cute kids, and in this one she and Doris were proving how tough Iowa girls can be.

Dorothy went to high school in New London, graduating in 1959. She got her Bachelor of Science degree from Truman State University in 1963. Dorothy taught school in New London, Burlington and West Burlington. Iowa for 33 years.

Dorothy married Wendell Linder on August 15, 1963. They had 3 children.

Dorothy died on Dec 28, 2009 in West Burlington, Iowa.
