Anne McClure was born on February 6, 1776 in Newberry County, South Carolina. She is Walt’s 4th great-grandmother.

Anne’s parents were Robert and Margery McClure. When trying to trace information for this family, I have found that there are a couple of families who have been crossed in online records and sorting it out is difficult.

I was able to find Robert’s will, and from that I am working on trying to research their children as I have time. When the will was written, the family was living in Shelby County, Ohio.

Anne McClure married Abel Pearson 1793. Most online sources want to link their marriage to a Quaker record from the Bush River Monthly Meeting. It’s not clear to me if this is correct. It says that Ann Pearson married an Abel Mscho. This does not fit terribly well with the names I have.

Anne and Able had seven children between 1794 and 1810. Sometime around 1805, they moved to Ohio from South Carolina.

Anne McClure Pearson died on Jan 30, 1812. She is buried in Greenville Union Cemetery in Darke County, Ohio.

I wrote about her daughter Sarah in this post. The information in that post may need to be updated as I find new data.
