Allie Denning and Marie Link were married on January 30, 1918 in West Point, Iowa. Marie is Walt’s 1st cousin 2x removed.
Aloysius Henry Denning was the son on Barney and Mary Kelly Denning. He was born May 22, 1892 in Houghton. The family had a farm and Allie farmed his entire life.
Marie Link was the daughter of Eustace and Mary Strothman Link. She was born around October 10, 1895 in West Point. I’ve written several posts that mention Eustace, but this one was about him in particular.
Allie and Marie married in West Point on January 30, 1918. The married in St. Mary’s and Father Groethe was the officiant. I found this record of the marriage.

It was nice to find as it gave me Allie’s mother’s name. The witnesses were Mrs. Joseph Denning and Bernice Link. Joseph Denning was Allie’s brother.
After their marriage, Allie and Marie Denning moved to a farm near Mount Hammill. Unfortunately, Allie and Marie both came down with influenza in December and Allie succumbed to the illness on December 9, 1918. Allie is buried in Calvary Cemetery in West Point.
Marie moved back in with her parents and later moved to Cedar Rapids where she worked as milliner. She married Raymond Cherry in 1930.
