Eustace J. Link was born on September 20, 1867 in West Point, Iowa. He is Walt’s 2nd great uncle.

Eustace is the 7th child born to William and Mary Sauter Link. His older brother Isadore is Walt’s great great grandfather. The family had a farm near West Point, Iowa. Eustace farmed with the family for a time. He only attended school until 5th grade.

On October 17, 1893, Eustace J. Link married Mary Strothman in West Point. They were married by Father Jacoby, a name we have seen in many marriages and baptisms.

By 1900, Eustace and Mary were living in West Point. They had three children living at that time. Eustace had a store by then. He kept a store for many years. This building was his store for several years. Today it is a funeral home.

This city directory was published in 1901. We see Eustace at the bottom of the first column. At the top of the next column, we see his brother Louis is selling agricultural implements. There are a bunch of other familiar names in the directory.

Eustace and Mary had 11 children in total. Two died in infancy. I wrote about their daughter Leona in this post. Eustace and his family have been mentioned in several posts. You can find out more about him in Georgie’s Memories in this post. I talk about his father in this post.

Eustace J. Link died on August 22, 1942. He is buried in Calvary Cemetery in West Point.
