Charles Warren Kellogg and Emma Rogers were married on January 3, 1883 in Clark Mills, New York. They are Michelle’s 3rd great uncle and aunt.

Charles Warren Kellogg was the oldest child of Charles H and Almira Olney Kellogg. He was born December 12, 1853. His brother George Olney Kellogg is my Great, Great, Great Grandfather. We see them on the 1860 census in Oneida County, New York. Charles H. and Almira and their children are living on the farm of Warren and Rhoda Kellogg, Charles’s parents.

By 1880, Charles Warren is living on the Rose family farm, just a few miles from his family, working as a farm laborer.

Emma Rodgers was the daughter of Franklin D and Eliza Niles Rogers. She was born April 13, 1959. She and her twin sister Ella were the 4th and 5th of ten children. The Rogers were also farmers in Oneida County.

Charles Warren Kellogg and Emma Rogers were married on January 3, 1883 in Clarks Mills. Clarks Mills is not far from Utica, New York. It was named after a textile mill that opened there in 1845. You can find out some about that on this website.

Charles continued to work as a farmer. Emma kept house and did dressmaking. They never had any children, but had many nieces and nephews that lived nearby.

Emma died on Feb 26, 1933 and Charles died a few months later on May 9, 1933. Charles and Emma Kellogg are both buried in the Westmoreland New Union Cemetery in Westmoreland, New York. The Kellogg family has a plot there.

I wrote about Charles brother George in this post.
