Warren Kellogg and Rhoda Case were married on April 11, 1813 in New Hartford, Connecticut. They are Michelle’s 4th great grandparents.

Warren was born on January 5, 1779 in Hartford, Connecticut. His parents were Abraham and Sarah Seymour Kellogg. Warren was a carpenter by trade, and moved to Trenton, New Jersey and then to Westmoreland, New York.

Rhoda Case was born February 21 to Caleb and Rhoda Mills Case in Hartford, Connecticut.

Warren and Rhoda married on April 11, 1813 in Hartford, Connecticut. Together they had 7 children. Warren was a Deacon in the church and many records list him as Deacon Kellogg. Warren also had a farm.

Early census records only list the head of household by name. Other people are represented by sex, age range, and free or enslaved. So the first time we find them in the census by name is 1850.

The 1850 census shows Warren and Rhoda living on the farm with their son (Charles) Horace and daughter Mary. Son Frederick is right next door with his family. Charles Horace is my 3rd great-grandfather.

1850 census

The 1860 census has Warren and Rhoda still living with Charles. They are now in Westmoreland, New York. Charles has married Almira Olney and they have 5 children, Charles, Francis, twins Harriet and Caroline and my second great-grandfather George Olney Kellogg, who is about 1 and half years old at the time of the census.

1860 census – three generations

Rhoda died shortly after the census, on March 11, 1861. She was 70 years old. Warren died on May 21, 1969, having lived to 90.
