America celebrates the 4th of July with family gatherings and festivals. Walt and I always enjoy seeing the fireworks.

My grandmother’s birthday is the 4th of July, so we often spent time with family in Watertown, South Dakota. I wrote about grandma here.

Another favorite place for us to watch fireworks is at Lake Monroe. From the shore, you can often see four or more displays. We’ve been out there several times over the years. This is a shot of the lake from one of our favorite camping spots.
