Orville Ray Hoel married Eleanor Anna Johnson on November 22, 1937. Orville and Eleanor are Walt’s aunt and uncle.

Orville Hoel was born on May 12, 1906 to William H. and Martha A. Fisher Hoel in Celina, Ohio. The family moved to Michigan before coming to Iowa. I wrote about Orville in this post. Orville worked as a welder in the CB&Q railroad yards in Burlington and lived in New London.

Eleanor Johnson was born on March 23, 1910 to Walter and Ellen Lorraine McCabe Johnson in New London, Iowa. She lived there her entire life. I wrote about her in this post.

Orville and Eleanor were married in New London by pastor Fred Emerson at the Church of Christ.

Orville and Eleanor Hoel had 4 children. Their first child, Donald died in infancy. They had 2 daughters, Doris and Dorothy, and a son, William.

Orville died of a stroke on July 27, 1958. Anna died on January 2, 2004. They are both buried in Burge Cemetery in New London.
