Frank Link and Mary Frazier were married on March 22, 1864 in Harrison County, Ohio. Frank is Walt’s 3rd great uncle.

Franklin A. Link was born October 23, 1832 in Bavaria to George and Anna Limbach Link. He had a twin sister, Catherine. The family came to the United States in the mid 1840s. Some documents show 1844 and most show 1847. I have yet to find a confirmed date. They first came to Wheeling (West) Virginia.

By 1850, the family was living in Donegal, Pennsylvania. Frank ended up in Ohio sometime in the 1860s. Catherine had moved to St. Louis, Missouri. The rest of the family ended up in Iowa.

Mary Louise Frazier was born in Ohio on March 11, 1844. I haven’t been able to find out much about her family yet. She may have been the daughter of a Samuel and Elizabeth Frazier. In 1860, she was working as a domestic for a McComas family in Fairfield County, Ohio.

Frank and Mary’s marriage

Frank and Mary were married in 1864. I found a recording of their wedding.

The next time I find Frank and Mary in census records in 1880, they are living in Derry, Oregon and have 4 children. Three of the children were born in Missouri. The fourth child was born in Oregon. Frank is working as a farmer. They had one more child together in 1882.

By the 1910 census, Frank is retired. Their son Homer is farming the land. Their youngest daughter Nelle is working as a school teacher.

Frank died on May 5, 1910 in Airlie, Oregon. We learn from his will that he had been previously married and had a son, George, from that marriage. I will have to look for information about that. Mary died on December 13, 1924.

Franklin’s older brother William is Walt’s 3rd great grandfather. I wrote about him in this post.
