We have talked a fair bit about holiday traditions on the blog. Traditions are a part of family history. One tradition at our house is putting up the tree. We have a lot of ornaments from our families that go up on the tree every year.
A few of our favorites have a long history and it is amazing that they have lasted so long. The ones above are from grandparents and great-grandparents. They are all glass and very fragile. Some have lost paint.
Others are more recent, coming from grandparents and parents. Some of these are fragile, others are whimsical.
In addition to these family treasures, there are ornaments from when we first were married and ornaments we bought last year at the local Christkindlmarkt. We have ones that were gifts from friends and ones that we bought each other. Decorating the tree each year is a wealth of memories.
And we cannot forget our mistletoe!
We will be taking the next week off and will be back with more stories next year.
May you have joy in your celebrations this season, whether Christmas or otherwise. We wish you all a joyous season and blessings in the new year!
