Martha Clemens was born on Septenber 8, 1916 to Frank and Josephine Krueger Clemens. She was born in West Point, Iowa. Two of her sisters married into Walt’s family. Her sister Marie married Albert Link, Walt’s great uncle. Martha’s sister Gertrude married Aloysius Brune, Walt’s second cousin once removed.

Martha was the youngest of ten children born to Frank and Josphine. According to the 1920 census, the family lived on Monroe Street. Frank was a painter. All the children were still at home, and the oldest 5 were working outside the home.

By 1930, all but 3 of the children had moved out and Frank was still working as a painter. Frank died in 1938. In the 1940 census, Josephine is living with three children. Linus is working as a salesman at a grocery and Maurice is proprietor of a bowling ally. Martha is working as a bookkeeper at a creamery.

Martha Clemens married Richard Fullenkamp on December 29, 1941 at Assumption Church in West Point.

Richard is listed as a soldier on the license, and served in the US Army during World War II.

Richard and Martha had 7 children. The had a farm north of West Point. Martha died on February 10, 2005.
