On November 15, 1900, George Olney Kellogg married Ester Louise Purdy. George is my (Michelle’s) second great grandfather. This was George’s second marriage.

As we are over 200 Family History posts and nearly 4 years in the blog, I thought I might share a little insight on the software I use and how it helps me to determine who to write about.
Richard Mendenhall was born on November 1, 1837. He is Walt’s fifth great-grandfather on the Hoel side of the family.
Bessie May Trevett was born in October 25, 1889 near Emerson, Nebraska. Bessie May is my (Michelle’s) great grandmother.
Joseph Fedler was born on October 18, 1929 in West Point, Iowa. His daughter married Walt’s second cousin on the Wellman side of the family.
On October 11, 1865, Johann Heinrich Boeding married Elizabeth Becker. They are distant relations on the Link side of Walt’s family.
Henry Merschbrock was born on October 4, 1881 in St Paul, Iowa. Henry married Elizabeth Wellman, Walt’s 1st cousin twice removed.
Charles Russell Durfee was born on September 27, 1918 in Morristown, South Dakota. Charles Russell is my (Michelle’s) great uncle.
Eustace J. Link was born on September 20, 1867 in West Point, Iowa. He is Walt’s 2nd great uncle.
Maria Catherina Kruempelmann was both on September 6, 1857 in Bokel, Germany. She is Walt’s great-grandmother Wellman.
