Veronica Boeding was born on August 8, 1912 in Glad Valley, South Dakota. She is Walt’s 2nd cousin once removed.

Veronica was the 5th child born to William and Mary Wellman Boeding. William and Mary were both born in West Point and married there in 1905. They moved to South Dakota shortly thereafter and had farms in various places around the state.

On December 30, 1936, Veronica Boeding married John O’Hora in Glad Valley, South Dakota. I found the record of their marriage. They were married by John’s Uncle, the Reverend Raymond Thomas O’Hora.

1940 finds them in McCook county, South Dakota, where they had a farm. They have two daughters at this time, the second child is only 10 months old.

1950 finds the family in Hartford, South Dakota. John is working as a carpenter, building houses and barns. they have 4 children now. In 1958, John and Veronica have moved into Sioux Falls and John is working for Long Construction as a carpenter.

In 1961, John and Veronica moved to Larchwood, Iowa. John died on June 20, 1971. Veronica continued to live in Larchwood. She cleanded the parish residence for St. Mary Catholic Church. She was an accomplished seamstress and made many wedding dresses for people.

Veronica Boeding O’Hora died on January 18, 2005 in Larchwood.
