Robert Joseph Peel was born on May 17, 1945 in Fort Madison, Iowa. Bob is a relation by marriage on the Wellman side of the family.

Robert Peel was born to Albert and Edwina Kolz Peel. Albert was working as maintenance man for a paint manufacturing plant in Fort Madison. The 1950 census finds them living on Avenue F. Bob’s older sister Marilyn was working as a sales lady at a 5¢ and 10¢ store.

Bob graduated from Fort Madison High School in 1963. He served in the Army during Vietnam. His dates of service were from October 14, 1965 to October 13, 1967. Bob worked as a maintenance man for Dupont.

Robert Peel married Connie Sue Huffman on September 7, 1968 in West Point, Iowa. They had 4 children together. One child died in infancy. Connie died on September 22, 1976.

In 1993, he married Kay Whitmore Wellman on October 31, 1993. Kay brought three adult children to the family from her first marriage to Norbert Wellman. They lived in West Point.

Bob did a lot of volunteer work and enjoyed NASCAR and travel. Robert Peel died on August 28, 2007.
