Theodore Moeller and Elizabeth Frizjunker were married on February 16, 1898 at St. James Catholic Church in St. Paul, Iowa. Their daughter Verona (Veronica) is Walt’s great aunt.

Theodore Moeller is the son of German immigrants William and Elizabeth Moeller.. He was born on June 10, 1868 on Lee County Iowa. Elizabeth Fritzjunker is the daughter of Otto and Catharina Fritzjunker. She was born October 23, 1879, also in Lee County.

Theodore and Elizabeth were married at St James Catholic Church. I found their marriage record from when the marriage was recorded. I’m posting it as two sections at the text was fairly small. In this first part, we see that Elizabeth’s father Otto is providing the information. Theodore is 30 years old and is a farmer living in St Paul. He has not been married before and his parents are listed.

In the second section, we see Elizabeth is 19, also on her first marriage and she too lives in St Paul. Her parents are listed. The witnesses are Casper Frizjunker and Lizzie Moeller. I can’t quite make out the pastor’s name.

The family was blessed with 12 children, the first being Verona (Veronica), born about 14 months after her parents wedding. The family was living in Henry County at the time of the 1900 census. Theodore and Elizabeth moved to Lee County shortly thereafter and remained there for the rest of their lives. They continued to farm.

I found this picture of the family. It was likely taken in the late 1920’s. Verona is standing on the far left. Theodore is seated on the left and Elizabeth on the right.

Theodore died on January 7, 1932. Elizabeth died on October 26, 1956.

Verona and her husband George Wellman are mentioned in this post and this post.
