The Midwest Old Threshers Reunion in Mount Pleasant has been an event since 1950. I found a couple of pictures from the 1966 event in Georgie’s photos.

When the event started, there were 15 steam engines and 8 separators. Over time it has grown to include steam engines, antique cars and trucks, tractors, and horses. You can read more about it on their website here.

Image is in black and white, showing a steam engine rounding a curve on tracks. Several people are watching it arrive.
We see a steam engine coming into view in this shot. Taken in Mount Pleasant, Iowa in September, 1966.

We have an interest in steam engines and threshers since Walt’s grandfather had a couple and worked threshing. He talked about W.J.’s Minneapolis tractor in this post.

Image is black and white. It shows people walking down a line of steam powered tractors built in the early 1900s.
Another picture from September of 1966. Walt’s dad Carl and his brother Tony are standing at the far left of this picture.

Antique equipment has always been interesting, and we like to see it running. Hopefully we will be able to attend an Midwest Old Threshers Reunion sometime soon.
