I’ve talked about some creative ideas for gift wrapping in this post. I did another creative packaging idea with a treasure chest for my niece. I was sending her some beads and beading tools.

Image shows a green and purple fabric box shaped like a chest with a curved lid. Beads are stitched on spelling the name Lorrie.
I did decorative stitching on the lid and added her name in beads.

I wanted to make a neat way to store the pliers used for bead work. First I figured out what sized I needed to make the case. I used a strip of fabric and stitched in pockets.

The roll is tied with a piece of ribbon, and I added her name to it with a pen. It was a simple way to keep them together and organized.

The chest was made in a similar fashion to the other boxes, but I wanted the lid to be hinged, so the back edge of the lid is stitched to the top of the box. I added strips of fabric and buttons for decoration.

I put the tool roll in and added some wire and beads, so she was all set to make bracelets like these I covered earlier.
