Despite rumors to the contrary, we don’t spend all of our time outdoors backpacking. We also go fishing!

Walt has been talking about tying flies in his recent posts, here, here, and here. We love to take the flies he makes and head out to do a little fishing.

One of our favorite places to go fish is the Black Hills in South Dakota. We’ve caught many a trout (and plenty of bluegill) out there over the years.

We’ve done some stream fishing out there as well. The fish aren’t as big, but it’s a lot of fun.

We’ve fished quite a bit on Spearfish Creek.

We were not far from our campsite on Box Elder Creek on this trip.

I caught this little brook trout there. He went back in the water.
