Every season has something to offer when you are out in the woods. We haven’t done a ton of winter camping, but we enjoy getting out whenever we can.

Sometimes there isn’t very much snow when you are out in the winter, but there are some spectacular things to see.

This picture was taken in Morgan Monroe State park in January of 2015.
At another point on this trip, you could walk under the overhang and look out past the ice.

Sometimes there is plenty of snow. This trip to The Garden of The Gods Recreation Area in Shawnee National Forest had plenty of snow to walk through. Of course, it was supposed to be moderately warm and dry, so we weren’t as prepared as we might have been.

There was about 6 inches of snow on the ground for this hike in 2018.
The views were incredible!
