Anna Wellman Vonderhaar was born on November 27, 1884 in West Point, Iowa. Her parents were Elizabeth Terborg and Bernard Wellman. She was the first of five children born to the couple. Both of her parents were born in Germany.
She married Henry Gerhard Vonderhaar on June 16, 1908 at St. Mary’s Church in West Point, Iowa. My records state that she had 4 children and was a housewife.
She died on June 5, 1985 at the age of 100.
Anna was Walt’s first cousin twice removed.
Walt’s Grandmother Elizabeth Wellman Link and her cousins were first generation Americans. Her father, Gerhard, and his brother, Bernard, arrived in the 1880s. Another brother, Herman, came in the 1890s.
