Back to School in 1934

When we get to this time of year, I always think of back to school. I thought I would share a few pictures from Georgie’s collection from 1934 in West Point, Iowa.

This is the Orchestra at St. Mary’s. The people were not named on this picture.
Mary Box, Anna Marie Fullenkamp, Mary Lucille Lampe, Mary Catherine Lohman, Elvera Lampe
Dorothy Menke, Anna Marie Fullenkamp, Mary Box, Mary Lucille Lampe, Elvera Lampe

There are Lampes, Menkes, Fullenkamps, and Lohmans in the family tree, but I am not sure if any of these girls are related.

  1. Dorothy Menke and Elvera Lampe are 3rd cousins once removed. Most recent common ancestors were Johan Herm Theodore Menke and Maria Catharina Schirren. I don’t see a relationship between Anna Marie Fullenkamp between either of these two. I don’t have the other three in my genealogy database so I can’t say for certain for them.

All I know for sure is they were in school with Georgie and good friends of hers.
