On the 21st, this blog will be three years old. Another birthday is coming quickly. It amazes us that we have been writing the blog for that long. We’ve told lots of family stories and covered many other topics.
Our first post was a simple greeting. We have published 366 posts. The blog was really started as a way to share all of the family history we have. 178 of our posts have been about family history. We’ve covered an amazing journey that Carl and Georgie took in 1946 and many birthdays and anniversaries.
We also wanted to cover other topics that interest us, so there are posts about cooking and gardening. There are posts about backpacking and hiking. There are posts about shop projects and quilts.
Visits to our home page are still the most common looks. A few posts have plenty of legs and get viewed regularly. Walt’s post on the Crosman backpacker is the most popular page. A cooking post is the next favorite – all about hasenpfeffer.
After that, the history takes over. Posts about West Point, Iowa, where many of the family lived, dominate the views. You can see all the posts about West Point by clicking on the tag “west point” in the tag cloud on the side of the home page. You can also look at all the posts in a category.
We’ve had over 6000 visitors to our blog and 11, 400 views of the pages. Thanks to all of our readers for hanging with us as we ramble through time and around the various topics. We just signed up for three more years of website hosting, so keep stopping by!
