Kenneth Andrew Shively was born on August 4, 1913, to George and Dana Hoel Shively. Dana Hoel was the daughter of John and Lydia Hoel. He was born in Lansing, Michigan. Kenneth is Walt’s first cousin once removed.

Kenneth was the second son born to George and Dana. The family lived on a farm near Lansing. By 1920, they had move to Kalkaska County, Michigan. There was a third son at this point.

By 1930, Kenneth was no longer in school but was working on his father’s farm along with his older brother.

When the 1940 census was taken in early April, he was still living on the farm. Days later, on April 11, he married Alma Anstett in Kingsley. Michigan.

In October 1940 he registered for the draft. He and Alma were living on a farm in Kaskaska County.

By 1950, Kenneth and Alma had 2 sons and were living in Wynadotte, Michgan, where Kenneth was working as a welder.

I don’t have much about his later life. Kenneth Shively died on April 5, 1992.
