Stacy Pollpeter was born on March 24, 1906 to John and Catherine Boeding Pollpeter in West Point, Iowa. He married Rose Brune on November 23, 1937. Rose is Walt’s second cousin twice removed.
I found Stacy in the 1910 census as a four year old, living on his parents farm.
In 1930, he was still living on his parents farm, working as a carpenter. He was building corn cribs. Stacy completed a 7th grade education.
By 1940, he had married Rose. Rose was the daughter on Bernard and Bernadine Wellman Brune. Bernadine was Elizabeth Wellman Link’s first cousin.
Stacy and Rose lived on a farm, and by 1940 they had a daughter. Stacy Pollpeter died at the age of 45 on March 3, 1952. Rose lived until January 21, 1991. Rose’s brother Leonard was one of the people who helped with the family history, as discussed in this post.

What is a corn crib?
At the time Stacy was building them, corn cribs were wooden building with slat walls for storing corn. They were build off the ground to help reduce mice getting in the corn, and the slat walls helped keep air circulating around the corn. They often had slanted side walls to help keep the rain from getting in.
