Sometimes it is easy to dive way, way too deep into the family history research. We’ve talked about shirt tail relations in a couple of other posts – here and here. Well, I think we may have found one of the most shirttail relations on the tree.

Today is the wedding anniversary of Adam Fritz and Johanna Marie Seimer. They were married on January 27, 1857. They had either nine or ten children (there are different reports) and were married for 51 years. I found their obituaries on line. They were both born in Germany and immigrated to the United States, Adam in 1853 and Johanna in 1847. They met and married in Ohio. Adam at one time owned a shoe repair shop, a saloon and later a cigar and tobacco store.

So how are these people related to Walt? They are the father and mother-in-law of the uncle of the wife of the husband of the mother-in-law of the step-granddaughter of the sister-in-law of the first great-aunt of the husband of Walt’s second cousin.

Somehow, I feel like we’ve gone far enough down that branch of the family!
