I try to put up posts that relate to events that happened around the day of the post. Walt’s cousin Bertha got married on this date in 1939. Walt is the youngest of his cousins. I wasn’t able to find any pictures of David in the ones I have scanned in so far.
Bertha was born to Clarence Arthur and Sarah (Sadie) Elizabeth Hoel Ransbottom on Nov 13, 1915 in Coldwater, Ohio. In the early 1920s her family moved to Madill, Okalahoma. They moved to Bonnerdale, Arkansas in the late 1920s.
At some point after that, the family moved to Louisiana. That is where she met her husband, David Arlander Humphries. David was born to John Alex and Melvina Hammock Humphries on Dec 30, 1914.
Bertha and David married On August 26, 1939. They had 3 children. David died in Newellton, Louisiana on November 3, 1946. Bertha also died in Newellton on December 22, 1999.
