Last week was Gen Con, one of the biggest gaming conventions in the country. If you follow our blog, you know that Walt and I both run games at Gen Con. This year I wrote and ran a game based on the Gold Rush of the 1870s in the Black Hills of South Dakota. And I used our history for RPG inspiration.
Abel Pearson was born on July 24, 1767 in Chester, Pennsylvania. He is Walt’s 4th great-grandfather.
Matt Linder was born July 17, 1968 in Burlington, Iowa. He is Walt’s 1st cousin once removed.
Harry (Buck) Buckles and Wilma (Billie) Link were married on July 10, 1954 in Chicago, Illinois. Buck and Billie are Walt’s aunt & uncle.
Alice Brune was born July 3, 1940 in West Point, Iowa. She is Walt’s 3rd cousin on the Wellman side of the family.
August Lohman and Clara Holtfoester were married on June 26, 1863. They were the grandparents of Herman Lohman who married Walt’s cousin Germaine Wellman.
Leslie Nelson and Louise Link were married on June 19, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois. They are Walt’s uncle and aunt.
George Wellman and Veronica Moeller were married on June 12, 1918. They are Walt’s great uncle and aunt.
Carl Hoel was born on June 5, 1911 in Celina, Ohio. Carl is Walt’s dad and my father-in-law.
John Brockman was born on May 29, 1882 in West Point, Iowa. He is Walt’s 1st cousin twice removed on the Kempker side of the family.
