She is a relation of Walt&#8217;s through the Link branch of the family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anna was the seventh of 11 children born to Bernard (as Johann was known) and Catherine. Bernard and Catherine were both immigrants. The family had a farm near St Paul. <\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-full is-resized\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"565\" height=\"679\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/therabbithoel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/marriage-announcement.jpg?resize=565%2C679&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3911\" style=\"width:275px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/therabbithoel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/marriage-announcement.jpg?w=565&amp;ssl=1 565w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/therabbithoel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/marriage-announcement.jpg?resize=250%2C300&amp;ssl=1 250w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 565px) 100vw, 565px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anna married Christopher Steffensmeier on April 17, 1888. I found an announcement of their wedding in the local paper. It lists the last name as Steffensmeirer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I also found the record of their marriage in the register kept by the Lee County, Iowa, clerk of courts. I love to look at these records because you get to see who witnessed the marriage and the officiant. One son died at the age of nine and a daughter died at only three months old. 1900 finds them living on a farm near St. Paul. Their youngest child, Tecla, wasn&#8217;t born until October of that year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I found this picture of the family.
