Kenneth Andrew Shively was born on August 4, 1913, to George and Dana Hoel Shively. Dana Hoel was the daughter of John and Lydia Hoel<\/a>. He was born in Lansing, Michigan. Kenneth is Walt’s first cousin once removed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Kenneth was the second son born to George and Dana. The family lived on a farm near Lansing. By 1920, they had move to Kalkaska County, Michigan. There was a third son at this point. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

By 1930, Kenneth was no longer in school but was working on his father’s farm along with his older brother. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the 1940 census was taken in early April, he was still living on the farm. Days later, on April 11, he married Alma Anstett in Kingsley. Michigan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In October 1940 he registered for the draft. He and Alma were living on a farm in Kaskaska County. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

By 1950, Kenneth and Alma had 2 sons and were living in Wynadotte, Michgan, where Kenneth was working as a welder. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
