One of the more varied things you can see while hiking in the woods is fungus. If you are going mushroom hunting – be sure to consult with an expert before eating any you find!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Some are very large. The shoe you see in this picture is Walt’s size 13!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some are tiny. This one is next to my hiking stick – a little less than an inch in diameter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Colors – oh my the colors! Everything from grey to yellow to red. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And shapes. There are cups, ruffles and some that look like masses of tendrils. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You often find them growing on trees and logs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some look almost feathery and others have spots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some look positively alien.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
